On Friday 18th October, Dr Ennis from Uni BZ came to our school to answer questions our 5th year students had prepared and sent to him prior the event. While there was not enough time to answer all the questions 5CS, 5DM, 5ES and 5GYM had worked on, Dr Ennis was able to give us very detailed answers to questions regarding the elections. Students were particularly interested in the different perception of the US elections here in Europe and the US, why the electoral college is still being upheld, how the US Supreme Court works, why the elections stretch over an entire year, the impact the outcome of the US elections is going to have on the Ukraine and Israel-Palestine conflict. In the last hour students and teachers were able to ask further questions such as what impact famous US citizens, like Taylor Swift or Elon Musk, are having on the elections; to what extent electoral fraud really exists and the negative effect of social media. 

Once more it became evident that we need to make an effort to find trustworthy sources for our information and not jump on the bandwagon of Instagram, X and TikTok.
